Whoa...who is that feller with the funny teeth? The striped fish that's eating those barnacles! Its a sheepshead! Yes..I said sheepshead! Sheepshead can often be seen crunching on barnacles and sea urchins near docks and piers. You might see one swimming near a rock jetty or maybe in and out of a shipwreck. When you see a sheepshead one of the things you notice is their teeth, because their teeth look so much like people teeth. Its true! Go look in the mirror and smile and look at your teeth. Now you know just what a sheepshead's teeth are going to look like when you see him - except the sheepshead won't have any cavities!. Maybe we need to eat some barnacles to clean our teeth like his....Yuuuuuuuuukkkky! But wait! Who's that fellow lurking at the bottom of the water? He's no sheepshead! What's he doing in this picture...its the dreaded oyster toad!!!!!!!!!!! Don't worry - I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him! Go back and try another spot. |
