STRIPED BASS MEETINGS TO BE HELD NOV. 24 and 25
MOREHEAD CITY - Two public meeting will be held to discuss the upcoming commercial striped bass season in the Atlantic Ocean on Nov. 24 and 25.
Topics to be discussed include harvest allocation for the beach seine, gill net and trawl fisheries, along with the timing of the season opening and daily landing limits. Fishermen and interested public are encouraged to attend these meetings to share their thoughts on these important fisheries with the North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries.

MARINE FISHERIES COMMISSION SEEKS SOUTHERN FLOUNDER ADVISORS
MOREHEAD CITY - The North Carolina Marine Fisheries Commission is looking for interested individuals to fill vacancies on the Southern Flounder Fishery Management Plan (FMP) Advisory Committee.
The advisory committee is composed of representatives from the commercial, recreational and scientific communities, which assist in developing long-term management goals for southern flounder.
FMPs include information on the nature and concerns of the fishery, habitat and water quality issues, and status of the stock. The goal of the FMP is to develop management options for maintaining a viable fishery. Options may include restrictions on gear and harvest.
Individuals interested in serving as advisors should be willing to attend frequent meetings and actively participate in the committee process. Advisors will be reimbursed for travel and other expenses incurred in relation to their official duties.
Advisor applications are available at Division of Marine Fisheries' offices or by calling 252-726-7021 or 800-682-2632. The next advisory committee meeting is mid-December. FISHERIES LICENSE OFFICE TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE NOV. 20
MOREHEAD CITY - The Division of Marine Fisheries License Office in Wilmington will be temporarily closed on Thursday, Nov. 20 so staff may attend a training workshop in Morehead City.
The office, which is located at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Wilmington Regional Office, 127 Cardinal Drive, will reopen on Nov. 21. Fisheries license offices will remain open in Morehead City, Washington, Columbia, Wanchese and Elizabeth City.
MARINE FISHERIES COMMISSION TO MEET NOVEMBER 18 - 19

MOREHEAD CITY -- The Marine Fisheries Commission will hold a business meeting November 18 - 19 at the Outer Banks Resort and Conference Center/Ramada Inn in Kill Devil Hills.
The meeting is open to the public.
On November 17, a public hearing will be held at the same location beginning at 7 p.m. to take comment on Temporary Blue Crab Economic Assistance Rules. Immediately following the hearing, a pubic meeting will be held for anyone wanting to address the commission regarding fisheries issues.
