PROCLAMATION

RE: FIXED NETS AND CHANNEL NETS

Preston P. Pate , Jr., Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, hereby announces that effective at 8:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 5, 2001, the following areas will close to shrimping with fixed nets and channel nets:

I. AREA

All waters bound on the north by the N.C. Highway 210-50 swing bridge at Surf City and on the south by a line beginning on the east side of the Intracoastal Waterway at 34° 25.6049'N, 77° 33.4116'W running to a point on the west side of the Intracoastal Waterway at 34° 25.7193'N, 77° 33.4649'W to include all areas on either side of the Intracoastal Waterway channel as shown on the attached map.

II. GENERAL INFORMATION

A. This proclamation is issued under the authority of G.S. 113-182; 113-221(e); 143B-289.52 and N.C. Marine Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3H .0103, and 3J .0106.

B. It is unlawful to violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director under his delegated authority per 15A NCAC 3H .0103.

C. This proclamation supersedes portions of Proclamation M-9-97, dated May 30, 1997.
