RE: 2001 SHRIMPING AND CRAB TRAWLING

Fisheries, hereby announces that the following areas WILL OPEN to shrimping and crab trawling, effective at 7:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 25,
2001:
NEW HANOVER/BRUNSWICK COUNTIES
INTRACOASTAL
WATERWAY (ICW) - Main
channel only from Marker #18 to the
Holden Beach Bridge
CAROLINA
BEACH BOAT BASIN - from the
Intracoastal Waterway Marker #161 to
the Municipal Docks.
THE AREA
AT FORT FISHER KNOW LOCALLY AS ATHE BASIN@ - except for that portion northeast of a line beginning at a point on
the north shore at 33° 57' 16" N - 77° 56' 13"
W, running 157° (M) to a point on the south shore at 33° 57' 04" N - 77° 56' 06" W.
BUZZARD
BAY AND SECOND AND MIDDLE BAY
BALDHEAD
CREEK - northwest of a line
beginning at a point on the south shore at 33° 51' 45"
N - 77° 59' 13" W, running 057° (M) to a point on the north shore at 33° 57' 47"
N - 77° 59' 12" W.
ALL TRIBUTARIES, INCLUDING
FISHING CREEK, WILL REMAIN CLOSED.
CAPE
CREEK - northwest
of a line beginning at a point on the south shore at 33° 51' 53" N - 77° 58' 21" W, running 026° (M) to a point on the north shore at 33° 51' 58"
N - 77° 58' 18" W.
ALL TRIBUTARIES WILL REMAIN
CLOSED.
BAY CREEK - from the Cape Fear River to the junction of Deep
and Bluff Island creeks.
CAROLINA
POWER AND LIGHT BY-PASS CHANNEL -
dredged canal north of the Intracoastal Waterway from the waterway to the
Wildlife boat ramp and the dredged portion of Piney Point Creek south of the
Intracoastal Waterway. ALL TRIBUTARIES OF THE CANALS WILL
REMAIN CLOSED.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
A) This proclamation is issued under the authority of G.S.
113-182; 113-221 (e); 143B-289.52 and N.C. Marine Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3H
.0103; 3L .0101 and .0202.
B) It is unlawful to violate the provisions of any proclamation
issued by the Fisheries Director under his delegated authority per 15A NCAC 3H
.0103.
C) This proclamation supersedes portions of SH-10 -2001, dated
July 6,2001 and SH-2-2001, dated April 20, 2001.
