HYDE/ PAMLICO/CRAVEN/ CARTERET COUNTIES
JUNIPER BAY‑CUNNING HARBOR ‑ south of a line beginning on the west shore of Juniper Bay at a point 35° 20' 33" N ‑ 76° 15' 28" W, running easterly to a point 35° 20' 18" N - 76° 13' 20" W thence on the east shore of Cunning Harbor to a point 35° 20' 15" N ‑ 76° 12' 23" W. (Map 1)
SWANQUARTER BAY
‑ south of a line beginning at The
Narrows at a point 35° 20' 55" N ‑ 76° 20' 39" W, running
easterly to the east shore to a point 35° 21' 36" N ‑ 76° 18'
23" W (Map 1)
ROSE BAY ‑ south of a line beginning on the west
shore at a point 35° 23' 17" N ‑ 76° 26' 10" W, running
southeasterly to Judith Island to a point 35° 22' 29" N ‑ 76° 25'
15" W. (Map 1)
SPENCER BAY ‑ east and south of a
line beginning on Willow Point at a point 35° 22' 22" N ‑ 76° 27'
52" W, running northeasterly to a
point 35° 23' 17" N ‑ 76° 26' 10" W. (Map 2)
NEUSE RIVER - (Map 3)
BAY RIVER- All tributaries will remain closed (Map 3)
ONSLOW/CARTERET COUNTIES
WHITE OAK RIVER - south of a line beginning
on Bluff Point at 34E 45' 27" N -77E 07' 39" W, running 095E (M) to a point on the east
shore (locally known as Alligator Gap) at 34E 45' 27" N - 77E 07' 07" W. ALL
TRIBUTARIES WILL REMAIN CLOSED.

FOSTER'S CREEK - near Intracoastal Waterway Marker #48. (See Map 4)
QUEENS CREEK - from the Intracoastal
Waterway to N.C. Secondary Highway 1509 Bridge. ALL TRIBUTARIES,
INCLUDING PARROTT SWAMP AND DICK'S CREEK, WILL REMAIN CLOSED. (See Map 4)
BEAR CREEK - from the Intracoastal Waterway to Willis Landing. (See Map 4)
GENERAL INFORMATION:
A) This proclamation is
issued under the authority of G.S. 113-170.4; 113-170.5; 113-182; 113-221 (e);
143B-289.52 and N.C. Marine Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3H .0103; 3L .0101 and
.0202 and 3R .0103, .0104, .0105 and .0106.
B) It is unlawful to violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director under his delegated authority per 15A NCAC 3H .0103.
C)
Nursery
areas and prohibited trawl areas described in N.C Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3R
.0103, .0104,
.0105 and .0106 remain closed to shrimp trawling.
D)
Hatched
and blackened areas on the attached maps indicate those areas closed to
shrimping and crab trawling.
E)
This
action is being taken because shrimp in the areas listed above have reached
harvestable size. This proclamation supersedes portions of SH-4-2002, dated May
31, 2002 that pertain to these areas.
F)
This proclamation supersedes
SH-5-2002, dated June 14, 2002 in which CHADWICK BAY was inadvertently included
in the list of openings.
