PROCLAMATION
Michael
G. Buhl, Acting Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, hereby announces that
effective at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, March
22, 2003, the following restrictions will apply to the weakfish fishery for
recreational purposes or by hook-and-line:
A)
No person may possess weakfish less
than 12” total length.
B)
No person may possess more than seven
(7) weakfish per day.
II. GENERAL INFORMATION
A. This
proclamation is issued under the authority of G.S. 113-170.4; 113-170.5;
113-182; 113-221(e); 143B-289.52 and N.C. Marine Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3H
.0103 and 3M .0504.
B. It is unlawful to violate the provisions of
any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director under his delegated authority
per 15A NCAC 3H .0103.
C. This proclamation is issued to implement
options within the conservation equivalency of weakfish size and creel limits
under the Amendment # 4 of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s
Weakfish Management Plan.
D. This proclamation supersedes Proclamation FF-41-2001 dated June 13, 2001.
