following areas WILL CLOSE to shrimp
and crab trawling effective 6:23 P.M.,
Sunday, June 22, 2002.
A. Rose Bay/Spencer Bay – north of
a line beginning on Willow Point at a point 35° 22.3667’N - 76° 27.8667’W;
running southeasterly to Judith Island at a point 35° 21.8667’N - 76°
25.7000’W. (See Map)
B. Swanquarter/Juniper Bay – north
of a line beginning on Swanquarter Island at Shell Point 35°19.8667’N - 76°
22.4667’W; running southeasterly to Great Island at a point 35°18.4500’N -
76°16.0333’W; running northeasterly to Juniper Bay Point at a point 35°20.2833’N
- 76°13.3500’W. (See Map)
II. GENERAL
INFORMATION:
A. This proclamation is issued under the authority of G.S. 113-170.4;
113-170.5; 113-182; 113-221(e); 143B-289.52 and N.C. Marine Fisheries Rules 15A
NCAC 3H .0103; 3J .0104; 3L .0101 and .0202.
B. It is unlawful
to violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director
under his delegated authority per 15A NCAC 3H .0103.
C. This action is
being taken to protect small brown shrimp that were forced into these areas by
heavy rainfall.
D. This
proclamation supersedes portions of SH-4-2003 dated June 2, 2003.
