               PROCLAMATION

 

 

RE:  2004 SHRIMPING AND CRAB TRAWLING                                       

 

        Preston P. Pate, Jr., Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, hereby announces that the following area WILL OPEN to shrimping and crab trawling, effective 8:00 A.M., Monday September 20, 2004:

 

BRUNSWICK COUNTY

 

 Atlantic Ocean – that area bounded by a line extending from Bald Head Lighthouse to Cape Fear River ship channel buoy “7”, then to the Lockwood Folly Inlet Sea Buoy, then to the Shallotte Inlet Sea Buoy then to the west end of Holden Beach, then following the shoreline eastward to the Oak Island Lighthouse then to the Bald Head Lighthouse.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

 

A.    This proclamation is issued under the authority of G.S. 113-170.4; 113-170.5; 113-182; 113-221(e); 143B-289.52 and N.C. Marine Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3H .0103; 3L .0101 and .0202.

 

B.    It is unlawful to violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director under his delegated authority per 15A NCAC 3H .0103.

 

C.    This action is being taken because shrimp in this area have reached harvestable size.

 

D.    This proclamation supersedes SH-17 -2004, issued August 17, 2004, which closed this area.
