PROCLAMATION

RE: SHELLFISH MANAGEMENT AREA

Dr. Louis B. Daniel III, Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, hereby announces the following changes to the Shellfish Management Area which will take effect at sunrise, Sunday, October 18, 2009:

I. AREA DESCRIPTION

BRUNSWICK COUNTY

Sheep Island Oyster Management Area (OMA) – The North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries has marked the area as shown on the attached map.

II. GENERAL INFORMATION

A. This proclamation is issued under the authority of N.C.G.S. 113-170.4; 113-170.5; 113-182; 113-221.1; 143B-289.52 and implementing N.C. Marine Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3H .0103 and 3K .0103.

B. It is unlawful to violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director under his delegated authority pursuant to N.C. Marine Fisheries Rule 15A NCAC 3 H .0103.

C. The Management Area at Sheep Island had been remarked and continues to remain
closed to the taking of clams.

D. This proclamation supersedes Proclamation SF-8-2004/2005, dated October 12, 2004, which opened the season.
