Description of Work
(Note: This is a Temporary 9 month (40 hour week) recurring (March - November) position. The Marine Fisheries Technician I conducts creel census interviews in the marine recreational fishery statistics survey (MRFSS) to determine fishing location, fishing time, catch, species identification, size and other biological parameters.  The technician will organize, code, and compile data for computer storage and analysis.  The ability to swim is required.  (This is a re-post.  Previous applicants are still under consideration and need not re-apply.)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ability to communicate with fishermen, knowledge of local water bodies, the ability to identify fish are required.

Training and Experience
Graduation from a community or technical college with an associate degree in fisheries management; or graduation from high school and two years of experience in the fisheries industry; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
