License Transfers
What is a License Transfer?
A license transfer is a permanent transfer to another person of license privileges. The person transferring the license retains no rights or interest to the license once it is transferred. |
Licenses that can be Transferred:
Standard Commercial Fishing License
Retired Standard Commercial Fishing License
Commercial Fishing Vessel Registration
License to Land Flounder from the Atlantic Ocean |
Licenses that cannot be Transferred:
Shellfish Endorsement
Menhaden License for Nonresidents without a Standard Commercial Fishing License

License Assignments
What is a License Assignment?
A license assignment is a temporary transfer of license privileges to another person. The person assigning the license delegates the privileges permitted under the license to an assignee, but retains the power to revoke the assignment at any time and is still the responsible party for the license. |

Standard Commercial Fishing License (Morehead City office only)
Shellfish Endorsement with Standard Commercial Fishing License
Menhaden Endorsement with Standard Commercial Fishing License |
