MEETINGS SCHEDULED FOR COMMENT ON DRAFT SPOTTED SEATROUT PLAN

MOREHEAD CITY – A series of meetings will begin next week offering the public an opportunity to discuss future management of North Carolina’s spotted seatrout fishery.
 
At the meetings, the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will detail proposals in a draft Spotted Seatrout Fishery Management Plan. A fishery management plan makes long-term research and regulatory recommendations for a fishery. A copy of the draft plan can be downloaded from the division Web site at http://www.ncfisheries.net/fmps/downloads/draftspottedseatroutfmp.pdf.

The meetings will be held in conjunction with N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission advisory committee meetings at the following times and places:
