| The Division of Marine Fisheries is conducting studies of the movements and migration of red drum, dolphin and striped bass through tagging programs. In addition, N.C State University is conducting a tagging program for speckled trout.

| What to do if you encounter a tagged fish: |
| We encourage all anglers who encounter tagged fish to return the tags. It is only through the tags that are returned and the supporting information provided by cooperating fishermen that we collect the data necessary for tagging projects to succeed.
