Formal public hearings will be held before final adoption of the plan and rules to implement management recommendations in the plan.

The commission also plans to hear results of a stock assessment for striped bass in the Albemarle/Roanoke Sound Management Area and vote on goals for an amendment to the Striped Bass Fishery Management Plan.

Discussion of a gill net proclamation to address Endangered Species Act issues is slated, as well.

The meeting will begin with a public comment session at 6 p.m. May 12 and continue with the business meeting portion at 9 a.m. May 13 and 8:30 a.m. May 14.
